(ESSISA) 2009

Innovation through inspiration

Prior to the 17th EASM Conference the European Student Seminar Innovative Sportmanagement Amsterdam will take place. From 12 to 16 September 2009 the EASM student seminar will focus on “Innovation through inspiration”. During this student seminar, the most talented master students sport management will get the opportunity to learn more about innovative sport management in an international context. The participating students will be challenged to develop new innovative concepts based on existing innovations in sport management from all over Europe. Inspirational master classes and best practices will trigger the students to combine their knowledge and insights, overcome cultural barriers and get into sport management of the future! And ofcourse they will get to know each other during the social and cultural activities in the evening. All of this will take place during a four day intensive program.

Participation in this student seminar is a great opportunity to enlarge your knowledge, intercultural skills and professional network, and last but not least a great opportunity to visit the city of Amsterdam.

To be well prepared and in order to maximize the result of the seminar, all students must hand in an example of a best practice of innovative sport management in their countries prior to the seminar. Guided by these best practices students get the opportunity to learn more about innovative sport management in other countries in advance! Combining these best practices may lead to new combinations of innovative sport management. This guarantees a wonderful learning outcome in an international context, both in a professional and in social way. During the seminar, these best practices can be used as a basis for the management game. As an extra motivation; best three groups can present their innovative concept during the EASM Conference!

In 2009 the EASM student seminar (12-16 September) will focus on “Innovation through inspiration”. The participating students will be challenged to develop new innovative concepts based on existing innovations from all over Europe. Inspirational master classes and best practices will trigger the students to combine their knowledge and insights, overcome cultural barriers and get into sport management of the future! During the EASM conference the students will present their ideas and share and discuss their concepts.

• NHTV Breda

Each University of Applied sciences has brought in it’s own expertise in the field of sportmanagement to create a unique EASM student seminar.

Accomodation for students and tutors

During ESSISA and the EASM conference you will be accomodated in the Stayokay Youthhostel in Amsterdam. This is a recently renovated primary school building with great authetic features, high ceilings and a modern look and feel. Located just outside the city center, close to public transport and railway station Muiderpoort.
