The deadline for the abstracts for the Special Issue Workshop is also fast approaching: April 11! We would like to invite all potential participants at the 2009 EASM Conference to consider a paper for the special workshop. From Friday March 27th till Sunday March 29th, the EASM Board visited Amsterdam. The members of the Board were welcomed by the local organizing committee, the Amsterdam Arena, the University of Amsterdam and the city of Amsterdam. The conference venue was inspected and the overall feeling was that the conference site is indeed spectacular, with keynote speakers situated directly on the field. Henk Markerink, CEO of the Amsterdam Arena and keynote speaker at the conference on Stadium Development in Europe, informed the Board about the facts and figures of this unique venue. For an impression, see the photograph below.
A meeting with the city of Amsterdam and the organizers of the student seminar in combination with some site seeing of the canals of Amsterdam completed the program.
Both the EASM Board as well as the local organizing committee are excited about the different aspects and insights of sport management this conference will offer, by bridging the gap between scientist and practitioners. The 17th EASM Conference in Amsterdam has a lot to offer!
